Foundation for Somatic Touch

The mission of the Foundation for Somatic Touch is to support the growth and accessibility of somatic treatment modalities that utilize touch, movement and client conscious awareness. Our mission includes outreach and collaboration with other like-minded organizations in the publication of research.

Activities of the Foundation for Somatic Touch include fundraising and providing research grants for projects that explore and document the effectiveness of somatic treatment modalities, as well as reporting research showing the effectiveness of other mind-body, and movement re-education approaches.

The Foundation for Somatic Touch was established in November 2008 and is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Somatic therapies are known to be effective with neuromuscular conditions such as Polio, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons and Cerebral Palsy, among others.
